some tele time

i Tortuga'd it last night at the nordic center, and even plugged-in it was damn cold. at 7am it was 3-degrees and the high today at nordic was 14-F. i taught a skate lesson at 2-pm and froze -- should have had my student doing more hill repeats.

finally, a new employee who it seems is here to stay. Ed says he's trained 8-people this year and as of yesterday it was just the two of us, and James, so we've had lots of flailers. sucks being short-handed because serving chili and passing out skis suck unless you have a few moments to shoot the shit with the guests and get out for a ski everyday, otherwise we might as well be working fast food or busy retail. Codi seems cool. she lives in Index, is a married home owner but young, a climber, tele and skate skier, and seems agro. should be fun to have another partner in crime around to get into trouble with once in awhile. hope that he hubbie is equally as fun.

James and Harlin were heading up to ski after work and i couldn't refuse to make some turns with a tele skier, and Harlen is good despite his claims of being out of shape with bad knees. the guy is pushing 50+ and is tough as nails, just like our man Ed. fun to hang out with too. not much pow left to hit, all tracked out, but found some soft junk on the edges and in the shadows that made for a fun night.

just decided to spend another night RVing on the mountain, a relief not having to drive back to Chiwawa, fire up the furnace and get everything back online. its so cold up here i don't look forward to the constant chore of keeping the place warm and pipes from popping.

got some pics to post... later!
